“Washed Up” is a DIY release on Fantastico Records (the band’s own label). As with many artists who influenced and inspired this album; “Washed Up” was self recorded in free time between gigs. Over a series of months, raw live takes were captured, some being augmented with instrumentation such as Steel Guitar, Organ, Synthesizer, Percussion and layers of vocal harmony. The result is 44 minutes of curious embellishment, rendering 10 songs in a way the band wants them to be remembered.
MUSIC: Raw audio files are are available on-line for preview, please contact the band for link and password to the files.
Grant Curless (19): Guitar, Vocals, Steel Guitar, Organ, Synth.
This recent Montessori graduate is collecting and learning new instruments, writing songs or working at a local record store. Despite his former boxing, he’s the sweetest member of the band.
Wils Quinn (18): Drums , Backup Vocals, Synth, Percussion
This STEAM Senior is also “Boytown, USA” (pop performance art), and the DJ for WLXU’s “No-Fi” weekly radio show, but never too busy to be the weirdest member of the band.
Shawn Reynolds (17): Bass, Backup Vocals, Organ, Synth
Also a STEAM Senior, Shawn is the founder of side-band GRUBAAR, he’s an assistant elementary school teacher, the oldest looking member of the band, and definitely the funniest.
